Thanks for writing me back...I'm glad I could be of some help =) I know what you mean that people who haven't had stones before really can't understand what we are going through. Especially when you are pregnant. I do have some really great friends who have been very supportive and helpful though. I am very thankful for that! A neighbor of mine gave me some information on treating the stones naturopathically. I am hesitant to do anything on my own without my doctors okay, but some of the information made sense and was helpful. One of the things the article she gave me mentioned something about high protein, high calcium diet attributing to calcium buildup and stones. I guess when you eat both high protein foods and high calcium foods (which is pretty much recommended during pregnancy)your body tends to absorb the protein and get rid of the calcium via the urinary system. The article recommended eating low protein, high calcium foods to get your calcium...like broccoli, kale, carrots, and citrus. Check with your doctor, maybe he/she can give you some ideas in terms of diet that will help prevent calcium buildup on your stent and future stones. I know there is no magic cure, but every little bit helps! I did have a question for you... I had my stent placed on Thursday and it has been somewhat uncomfortable, but not too bad. Okay this is kind of yucky, but I have to ask... I have had quite a bit of blood in my urine when I go to the bathroom. The urologist's nurse said this would happen on and off with the stent, but it seems like a lot. Have you experienced the same thing? It's just scary to see that every time you go to the bathroom. It would be nice to hear from someone else who actually has a stent too whether or not they have experienced the same thing.
