| Believe me, I know exactly how you feel. My son is now 9 mos and thankfully we have seen the last of those reflux days! My son spit up everything he ate from day 1. He was prescribed Zantac and was on it for almost 5 mos. The Rx didn't really help with the spitting up, but did help with the crying. (He was also allergic to milk protien). Just like the prior post, the best things you can do for your son is to keep his head elevated when he sleeps, try to keep him sitting up after eating for at least 20 minutes and give him the medication on schedule. I was reluctant to have such a young baby on medication, but in hindsight, I think it helped a great deal. There are no side effects from zantac in babies (so they say) and I know that when I get heartburn, I want something to help, so why wouldn't we want something to ease the pain in our children.
He is my first child also and it was sooo hard to deal with all of the crying, but believe me, it does get better.
