 | I have a 10 yr old son who is out of control. He has ADHD and is currently on medication. We have done therapy since he was 4 years old. (family, individual & play) He is on anti psychotic meds. as well. He was hospitalized this year for his outbursts. BUT...NOW THEY ARE WORSE.
If he gets mad in the car, he completely disrupts my driving to the point that I am unable to drive. He refuses to obey anything I ask him to do. In the evenings it is much worse. Today, after annoying his sisters, an adult friend and their daughter, I sent him to time out. He refused to go. I attempted to grab his hand and lead him to time out. His response was to fall on the floor, and laugh. He started screaming obsenities, and attempted to punch me. I restrained him, until I could get away from him without him hitting me. I am at my wits end. I do not know what to do. I know that my stress level is beyond normal thought function! The doctors in this town are not helpful at all. Counseling is not working anymore. As of yet, I have found no punishment that works. Spanking makes him more aggressive. He refuses to go to time out. He does not care if he is grounded. I have lost all patience with him. And I am so stressed over this behavior, I got to bed upset, and wake up just as stressed. I don't know whether to put him back in the hospital or take him to juvy or try to deal with him at home....???
Has anyone else dealt with this type of behavior? Any suggestions? |
