SUBJECT: Neighborhood kids
I have a 8 year old girl that is normally shy and a bit reserved. She has always had one girl in our neighborhood that she has been real close with until some new people moved in. The new family has two girls close to her and her friends age. Every since this new family has moved in my daughter has become extremly jeoulous of her friend and hurt because the friend spends a lot of time with the new girls. This has created a lot of tension between the two of them and my daughter has started slapping her friend when she get mad. The new girls seem to be real sweet, but I do wonder if they are encouraging some of this behavior. What can I do to get my child to stop slapping her friend? This is the first time we have ever heard of her behaving this way.
