I have recently encountered this problem with my own son, although, it has not been quite so severe. I have found it a challenge to keep my son acting in an appropriate behavior. I recently read a book on backtalk which also deals with this kind of behavior. I have started using natural consequences with my son, and though I haven't been at it long, it seems to be working. I also agree with the others who have replyed that no matter which approach you use, always be
consistent.
