SUBJECT: Blood/Milk Allergy
If my child is allergic to cow and soy proteins then would his stools be more frequent and contain tiny black strands throughout the movement? The blood was only once a day and kinda like red current jelly but not really bright. The doctors looked for ever for fissures until they finally caused one poking around. We moved from the breast at 4 months after I had eliminated all dairy from my own diet for the last three months. I had a hard time convencing the doctor he was bleeding because the samples were either not enough to test or to old until I finally started doing them at home on the little testing sheets. Next we tried Soy and it was worse but he already had a 50% chance of being allergic to that so it was no suprise. Then we tried Nutramigen and he would not touch it, then finally Alimentium which he would take. Now his is almost 6 months and I was told to give him yogurt with his second antibiotic - Augmentum - because of yeast and watch for the symptom. A day after the yogurt the black streaks started and he has gone from 2 dirties to 6 in one day. Do you think he is just not ready for milk protein again or could anything else be going on?
