| Your boys sound exactly like my daughter..smart & strong willed. I am happy to report that she is finally potty trained. However, it took us almost 2 years. (I know you didn't want to hear that)She is 4 1/2 now & about 4 weeks ago she went in the potty & said "Now I know how, it's easy"
I can't tell you a quick fix, but in the few weeks before she started going, I began to just throw the underwear away when she pooped in it. She was not happy about that, but she would make up excuses like "oh well, those didn't fit anymore". I also told her that she wouldn't be able to go to preschool with her friends.We tried that line last year & it didn't work, but 4 days before school started, she pooped & has gone in the potty ever since.
I think she just had to decide for herself that she was going to do it.
I feel for you, it is so frustrating! But sometimes if you back off a little, it helps. It got to where our life revolved around poop & you just have to let it go. I tried to make a big deal if she did anything in the toilet & just clean her up without alot of reprimanding her when she went in her pants. Just saying something like,"One day soon you will be able to go in the potty like a big girl" I also made a big deal when she did go in the potty of having her notice how much easier it was to clean her up. We got to where when she pooped, she had to have a shower to get her clean every time. I know your frustration is double, I will keep you in my prayers! Hang in there! |
