It *is* a typical 14 year old boy...minus the guidance and attention he needs. And that would be where you and your boyfriend come in. (Yes, sorry, you're going to have to do something here instead of sending him off to be someone else's problem. My sincerest apologies.) Counseling will help. You have bitter feelings for the boy (look at what you're saying about him behind his back for the rest of the internet to read!) and he's probably hurting a lot too because he can't please his dad. So, he's reacting in the only way he knows how.
But if you must send him off to boot camp...I guess that's your choice. He might even want to be away from that life right now. But boot camp is only going to treat the symptoms, not the problem. You're not going to get a magically healed kid just by getting rid of him. You'll just further confuse him and probably make it worse eventually. But if you're looking for what's convenient for you rather than what will help him, go for it. | |  | |
