Is milk bad for you?

I get some people, especially those that are vegetarians that keep telling me milk is bad.

I personally am a HUGE milk drinker and have recently started cutting back because I want to lose weight.

I give my kids the VitD/Homo milk and have a one year old.

What are your feelings on milk and milk products? Is it really that bad for you? I have gone to some places on the web and they are either all for it or all against it. I'm looking for a view that isn't swayed by what farmers do to cows.
