IN REPLY TO: late birthday going early
AUTHOR: rstrad
I just want to thank you for the question and everybody's responses. My daughter turns 5 on September 19 and I had just enrolled her this year into kindergarten. I sent her early because she knows everything and more than my older daughter did when she started kindergarten. I read this discussion after two days of her being in kindergarten and it helped me to see that what I was doing was really for myself. I took her out of kindergarten and enrolled her into what is called "Kinder Bridge". It is something one of the private schools in my area started this year just for children who turn 5 a little late and can't go to kindergarten, but don't need another year of just preschool. Another thing that I thought of is, being the little sister, she's always the youngest, and would have been all her life through school. Now maybe she will finally get to be the older one. I really feel good about my decision. Thank you all.
