Talk to your Mom. If you can't then find another adult woman you trust and talk to her. I know it's scarry but it's all part of growing up. I started my period when I was 10. I had an older sister who told me all kinds of scarry things and none were true. Don't be afraid, all women go through it and once you get used to taking care of yourself you'll be fine. First thing you do is go to the store and buy some pads (not tampons until your a little older OK?). The thick kind that say "Heavy Flow" on the box. Make sure you stay clean. Change your pad often and shower or take a bath every day. If you get cramps there are pills such as Midol but don't take any until you speak to a doctor or pharmacist or Mom or Dad. Don't be shy about it. Soon you'll find out that some of your friends have already started theirs. When you get older you'll see that girls talk about this kind of thing all the time. Good Luck and Take Care of yourself.
