SUBJECT: Website for Mich. New Special Education Plan 6/6/2002
For those of you that live in Michigan, there is a new Special Education Plan effective June 6, 2002. It shows ADHD as covered under Special Education on page 3 of the 58 page document. This is a good thing because many school districts don't even seem to be aware that it was previously covered under Section 504. (Mine wasn't). The document is a must read for all of you struggling out there in Michigan. Maybe the rest of the states could adopt it also? My daughter started on medication three weeks ago for ADHD and I can see a change in her already. Hopefully this will enable her to begin to catch up with the rest of her classmates in reading and math. The Site is: http://www.michigansig.org/ProductsView.asp?id=137
