 | One month ago my husband and I relocatted to a new town together/ out of state to try new job market. After 2 weeks he decided he wanted a seperation and left us, returning to the previous location 4 hours away. Now he's staying with his parents. We have a 3 month old baby and I am wondering what is a resonable visitation since he is out of state? At the moment he comes to us about once a week, which is Ok for me however, he keeps asking to take the baby 4 hours away to have a longer visit alone with baby and also see his family for a few days-to a week. He is the father, and has rights to see his child however, as I wish to try to be flexible and accomodating, at this time I just don't feel comfortable being 4 hours away from our infant...for days. He says he wants to move near to us eventually, but at the moment our funds are depleated. This is true, but he hasn't yet looked for a perm job in this area as we both planned to do when moving here.
During a seperation time, what is resonable visitation for an infant? Specifically taking a baby out of state. As the baby gets older, I can grow to feel safer with long distance visits. For now, the baby seems so young to have that kind of distance between us. Also, baby's grandparents know they are very welcomed here anytime and I even made effort to bring baby there recently when I was near their town. If we divorce, how do the visitation laws change? thanks for your input... |
