what do you do when you have just had a baby and you leave alone

This is what happened to me on July 19 2001. I have a beautiful little baby boy on this day. He was adopted by wonderful people. I was 17 years old when I had him. Did I do the right thing, my heart still hurts over him?? Someone please respond.
