SUBJECT: INFANT MEMORY
My earliest childhood memory occured when I was about 6 months old. My father dropped me off at a babysitters house. I remember clearly my thoughts and feelings. I was so scared that my mom and dad were leaving me at this new place, and was this my new mom? I was left in my carseat because I was uncontrollably crying, and years later when I discussed this with my parents they told me this was true. My father said that when he picked me up later that day my eyes were swollen shut from crying so much and all day. He was very upset that the babysitter did not call him to come get me. My parents still look at me a little weird; they find it hard to believe that I remember this so clearly. But every detail that I have of that day fuses with their memories.
