No such thing as ADD/ADHD

I have an 8 yr old that was diagnosed with ADD two years ago. He has impulsive behaviors that he cant control and he can not focus at all. His doctor put him on adderal. Over the two years we have had to change the dosages but it seems to still be working. I dont give it to him on school breaks and on the weekends. My problem is that my parents and my exhusband believe that I am giving him medication because i cant handle his behavior. His grades go from F's and D's to A's and B's. I am not sure what kind of comeback i can use. I am also trying to find a counselor that can help coach us with behavior modifications . I cant seem to find one that thinks ADD is a real diagnosis. I am an 30 year old adult that has ADD that wasnt diagnosed until my son's was. I know how hard it is as a child with ADDand i really think that he needs to have someone to talk to about this. I am in the Memphis, Tn area. Does anyone have any ideas or resources that i can use ?
