 | Join the small club! In 1996 at my 30th week I was diagnosed with PUPPS! No one that I knew ever heard of it! I worked in a group of 10 obgyns and nurse practioners so I had hands on experience but still no one and heard of this itchy experience, they gave me a medrol dose pack..didn't work, I was referred to a Dermatologist, who took a blood sample(which is another story in itself) which is when they diagnosed with PUPPS. She said it was rare and I believe her. Nothing helped for me, I scratched until I bleed (my legs anyway) I tried to leave my stomach alone which was hard to do, it finally went away around 36-37 weeks. I tried the Aveeno baths it only worked for about 15 mins and they gave me a bottle of the ultrsound jelly because it felted good to my belly but it only worked temporaily too! The dermatologist prescribed a jar of jelly which didn't work either! Nothing really worked well for me but hopefully now that its getting a little more common, maybe someone will find a relief! They did tell me it may not happen with any other pregnacies I may have, and I did have two other children and It didn't happen luckily! But I wish all of you luck and hang in there, even though we go through some bad stuff its all worth it in the end! God Bless! |
