You really don't seem to understand the serious condition of the nine year old girl. I think like the previous poster that you didn't read the posts well enough. If you had read them, you would know that the girl was potty trained earlier in life and that the problem didn't start until she was 8. Well, MS is a disability that slows down many body functions, such as motor skills etc. Do you think indeed a nine year old girl who was healthy would suddenly choose to lose bladder and bowel control and want to wear diapers? I guess not. I believe you that you are well educated and have a BA in Business. However, I would check your grammar before you brag about a degree. Moreover, a degree in Business doesn't have a whole lot to do with parenting. Even though you have three children and it seems they were easily potty trained, you shouldn't put an age limit when a child is supposed to be potty trained as you did in one of your messages. Every kid is different and learns this skill at his or her own pace. Some learn it fast and early, others take it slow and master it later. The most important thing is they achieve this milestone with no pressure and punishment, especially no spanking. You don't know the circumstances and you don't knw the child and the family so you shouldn't make any judgements. This board is to give advice and to support each other and not criticize other parents and children.
The nine year old girl regressed because of an illness. I feel very sorry for her and her parents and think her mother is doing a great job in helping her change herself. It is very hard for every family memember to go through this and especially the daughter should receive lots of love, encouragement and support.
