SUBJECT: 6 yr old who follows other peers
Starting this summer I sent my daughter (8)and son (6) to Boys and Girls club. My children are very well mannered and they don't give any trouble...but all of the sudden my son is follower. I am afraid that if he continues he will get into trouble later. That is when it all began. Some boys at the club where doing flips and he decided to do flips also...they were told to stop and they did not listen. My son landed flat on his face. Well, when I got home my husband and I spoke to him. We then realize that he was still not listening and still following the other kids. At the beginning of the summer I gave both of my children 1-2pgs. of work to work on in the morning and a book to read after lunch. My son decided that he would play and suffer the consequences later; according to my husband. The club went to Chucky Cheese and some of the kids were eating salt and my son decided to join in and then he poured salt on my daughters lunch when she went to help another after he fell. Well we started taking away things little by little and he would still do wat ever he felt like doing. He got spankings and it does not seem like nothing works. I don't like threats and my husband has been threatning him...well needless to say that is not working either. Could someone please give me some advise on how to handle this I am desperate. Running out of ideas don't want my son to fall into the wrong crowd.
