SUBJECT: Proud 2 B A Lefty
Since being a child I was told that left handed children are, "different." I was also told that they are gifted. I AGREE with both. I am different and gifted.

I am a lefty. My 1st husband was a lefty. Our son is a lefty. My current husband is a lefty. I am the oldest and only one of 7 children (step sisters and step brothers) who is lefthanded. My son is an only child. My father was lefthanded. My mother's only sister (my Aunt) was lefthanded.

I excelled in school and was always extremely competitive!! However, believe it or not, I am VERY insecure and somewhat shy. I prefer being alone where I can think and try and rationalize things. I am very uneasy about being around a person that I don't know very well for fear of not having anything to say that might interest them (this includes in-laws and some family members)-haha.

Although lefthanded, I bat on my right side and kick with my right foot. I reach for items with both my left and right hand. I play the piano better with my right hand (although I am not a good piano player :) I wear bangs on my face always pointing toward the right side. When I am doing some heavy thinking, I always place my right hand under my chin while resting my right arm on my left arm.

My handwriting is beautiful. So was my lefthanded Aunt. She would write while having the paper turned approx. 3/4 of the way toward the right and her writing would be gorgeous and would fit directly on the lines. It would seem as if she was writing from the bottom of the page toward the top. She was always completmented on her great handwriting, but no one understood how she did it. I usually write with the paper at an angle (toward the left). I am still complemented on my nice handwriting. My Aunt was known to be extremely intelligent - so am I. However, my ex-husband -- that's a different story altogether. My son scored average on his SAT's.

Most lefties that I know are very creative, sensitive and YES even psychic and intuitive.

We are different, but in a great way!! I love being a lefty. I love being different.
