 | My son is now a grown man, but when he was the same age as your little one, we went through the same thing. He would go to sleep just fine, but then around 11pm he would wake up screaming terribly. Even if I was holding him, he would still be calling out to me. It was very scary. Our pediatrician called it night terror. He prescribed Phenobarbitol drops for my son. He said that by having him in a deeper sleep for a few days, it would break the habit that his brain had formed. It worked. I gave him the prescribed number of drops before he went to bed, and he slept through the night. I only had to give him the medicine for 3 or 4 nights, and we never had the problem again. Ask you doctor about "night terrors". Hope this helps. |
