Thank you for the update. Hopefully, soon you will have some answers and some good suggestions for how to help your daughter. I really feel for you and your child. The other kids can be so cruel. But if your child tells you what's going on at school as far as who is teasing her...please talk to her teacher. The teacher may not realize and is in a great position to put an end to it. My daughter is 11 going into 5th grade and is 5'6" already. She's taller than most of the teachers!! I was told this week that she will be at least 6'3" maybe more!! But that's another story. Needless to say my daughter is also a social misfit. She is much more immature than the kids in her grade. I went to the school....actually the speech/language teacher and asked her if there were any other girls having similar problems and if they could be introduced. She now has a friend!! But I do notice how far behind my child is in comparison...so we'll see if she stays around. I do what I can to get them together, but I do know I can't interract for my daughter. The school psych. will also work with her in the fall on self esteem and social issues. Has your daughter found something that she is really good at? I got my child into everything from dancing to soccer but she wasn't confident about anything. She never wanted to go back for another season b/c she didn't think she was very good. Finally last year she found that bowling was it. She is quite good at it and very proud of herself. Team sports were not for her. I think that this helps quite a bit with her self esteem....having a place to excel after not feeling so great about school.
Please let me know what the testing showed and if you need any more suggestions. Heather
