Usually you start the pill on the first day of your period. As you got your period the odds are pretty good that you are not pregnant. Birth control pills make some people extrememly nauseated. I tried a number of different pill when I was on birth control looking for the one that worked best for me. Some people have better luck with the pill if taken at exactly the same time everyday, sometimes taking it with food helps. Sometimes taking it in the evening rather than the morning helps as well.
It sound like your nausea is rather severe. I would suggest calling your doctor and looking into trying a different brand of birth control pills. It often takes a little trial and error to find the right brand for you.
