SUBJECT: Possibly Blighted Ovum. Help!
I have a query!

We found out 5 weeks ago that I'm pregnant. This when I had even stopped thinking about ttc. I am PCO

I went for my second u/s on Thursday and they couldn't see anything inside the gestational sac. Technically this should've been the sixth week. The u/s they did two weeks earlier showed a sac too. The one today was a little bigger (11.4mm). The doctor's advice at this point is to get a d&c done. My heart says no & that I should wait two weeks and go in again and my doctor respected that but she has little hope. She told me to be prepared to make a decision next week.

The doc also said that her wost fear was infection of the uterus.

Help! Please advice me on what I should do. Get a second opinion or get a d&c.

I'm also counting on my isolated hope that my doc doesn't share. I'm hoping it was early enough to not see anyhtthing and next week they will. I've read in numerous medical journals that a pregnancy should not be termed failed until the gestational sac achieves a size of 20-25mm and still there is nothing inside. Why then does my doc want to do this in a hurry?

Here's my chart if you can look at it

Please advice!
