 | I had sort of a similar problem this school year. I was friends with this guy in my 8th grade year and he kept asking me out. I would always say no because he was a 9th grader and I could never see him, we only spoke over the phone. We sort of lost touch over the summer, so we slowly picked up our friendship when I started high school last year. He asked me out again a couple months later and so I said yes. But the bad thing was that we hardly spoke to each other. So I ended up breaking up with him 3 weeks after we started going out. Since then we haven't really spoken and we're not friends anymore.
Now, the part of my situation that's a little like yours is that I still want to be friends with him. He's a really great guy, but we just don't make a good match as a couple. I've tried several times to mend our friendship by telling him how I felt about it. Believe me, it hasn't worked at all. It's always hard to lose a friend, but sometimes that's just the way it goes. Since your friend isn't even giving you the chance to talk with him over the phone, I'd say that it would be a loss of time to try and repair the friendship anymore. But who knows, maybe your story will turn out better than mine. |
