 | i am now playing with putting him on his belly at nite(i was just doing naps). the doc told me the left side of his head is getting flat..move the toys to the other side. well, it doesn't matter what i move..objects or him..he looks to the left..wherever he is and in whatever!!(he is a lefty for sure!). the pediatrician then told me to have him sleep on his side..he won't go down that way, so she said change his position while he is asleep...i did that 2 nites ago and last nite..each time i went to check, he had squirmed himself onto his back(which he hates, but i guess he hates the side even more!)and yes, the wedges were around him and very snug. the belly , i think, is now going to be it since she said his head could be permanently flattened! he is very strong..at 5 weeks was able to lift the head to the one side..hold it..face the floor..still holding it and then turn the other way AND HOLD IT!!!(i have pictures of the sequence since he had done it before but i was sure no one would beleive me!)
only problem here is my son is very strongwilled..and has to be put down to sleep and cry..when i do the belly before he is willing to succumb to his exhaustion, he scoots..he scoots till he can't scoot any more and his head is just running into the bumper pads. my concern is that he awaken and rather than make enough fuss to wake, he scoot and get stuck somewhere...i have come in on his scooting. anybody else???? |
