I KNOW PERSONALLY NIGHT WAKINGS CAN BE VERY FRUSTRATING, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR CHILD HAS BEEN SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT FOR SOME TIME NOW. YOU THINK YOU ARE IN *THE CLEAR*! I BELIEVE THAT A PARENTS FRUSTRATION CAN CAUSE THIS PROBLEM TO LINGER. YOU ARE TIRED AT 2A.M. AND ALSO OUT OF THE ROUTINE OF WAKING FOR NIGHT FEEDINGS. MY ADVICE TO THIS PROBLEM,DON'T LET IT PERSIST FOR TOO LONG BEFORE FINDING THE CAUSE OF THIS. IT COULD BE SEVERAL THINGS. IT COULD BE A GROWING SPELL WHERE HE NEEDS EXTRA NUTRITION. BUT UNFORTUNATELY A HABIT FORMS WITHIN 28 TIMES OF DOING SOMETHING. SO, LET YOUR CHILD TRY TO CORRECT THIS HIMSELF WITHIN A COUPLE OF WEEKS. IF THIS DOES NOT WORK DO NOT GET RID OF THIS HABIT BY STARTING ANOTHER ONE, SUCH A ROCKING HIM TO SLEEP. I WOULD TRY TO CALM THE CHILD WHEN HE AWOKE AND TALK HIM BACK TO SLEEP. THAT IS FAIRLY BORING TO A CHILD. ALSO, AT BEDTIME, 7:30, I WOULD MAKE A SIPPY CUP OF MILK , A PICTURE BOOK, AND THEN BRUSHING HIS TEETH THE ROUTINE. IT MAY BE 7:45 BEFORE HE IS IN BED BUD HE MAY SLEEP MORE SOUNDLY AFTER HAVING HIS MIND STIMULATED AND HIS MILK. hint*try adding a multi-vitamin to his diet, during the morning, to help provide extra nutrition during growing spells.
