I know it is already June, and you wrote in April, but I hope you see my post. You said it was out of the question that your 4 and 5 year olds help you around the house. I was just wondering why? I have a 4 year old and she loves to help me. I make her put her toys away, I have her pick up dirty clothes and put them in the laundry room, I have her put her folded clothes away, etc. She loves to help and even though things don't always end up where they are supposed to I'm still grateful for her help.

Also, my husband used to be lazy too. He would mow the lawn and fix stuff that broke, but that was about it. I've talked to him several times, I've threatened to do what you have done, etc. Thankfully he has finally come to his senses. He usually does the dishes everyday now. Also because I work full-time he has the kids all day until he goes to work. That seemed to help the most. On weekends I try to catch up on laundry, at night I try to make our lunches and dinners. I know I'm doing way too much, but with my daughter's help it doesn't seem so bad. Our house is usually a wreck, but we can get it clean in an hour before any company comes over. That's better than our all-day cleaning we used to do.

Also I want to relate something I read the other day. How would you feel if you were a single mom with three kids? You worked all day, you do all the chores, all the cooking, all the house repairs, all the bills, etc.? Doesn't sound like fun? It may not be too far from where you are now, but all the things he DOES do, you would have to do. What you have done is separate your husband. If there is nothing left for him, then he may not stick around. I'm not trying to criticize, I just wanted give my 2 cents. Maybe it will help. Good Luck!!
