Your doing the right thing in keeping him cleaned out because even we as adults know, that it can be very uncomfortable. I gave this advice on another board and in case you didn't see it, I'll do it again. Keep up with what you are using. It will not be long term. Have your son sit on the toilet for 5-10 minutes after breakfast and again after dinner. His pants don't have to be down and he can even keep his pull-up on if he really protests. Let him know that these are "practice sits". Make it a pleasant experience for him by reading him a book or telling him a funny story you make up as you go along. Getting him to sit is the first step and eventually with a pull-up off. Gently praise with with a SMALL treat or buy a colorful piece of cardboard and decorate with a stickers (which he chose himself). Make a little chart for yourself everytime he sits, with the
date and the time. Record everytime he poops. Whether it's in his pull-up or in his pants. Do this EVERYDAY and be consistent. From the very beginning, take him to the store and have him choose his own "poop prizes". (Within reason)Keep them in a closet and let him know he will be rewarded one everytime he poops in the toilet and he gets to choose which one he wants. Don't give up. As tempting as it is to show frustration and anger, don't. It WILL only make this drag on longer. Take a deep breath and tell him calmly that poo belongs in the toilet everytime he poop in his pants. GOOD LUCK AND STAY STRONG!
For any parents who have children who poop on the floor, give your child a lot of toilet paper, have them pick it up and put it in the toilet themselves.
