I am also a single mother and understand exactly what you are going through. There really isn't much you can do to stop him from talking, face it they are little chatterboxes. As far as sitting still, the way I get my sone to sit down for more than five minutes is let him pick out a game or movie that he wants to play or watch. This usually will occupy him long enough for you to breathe. Tell him that he has to watch the movie if you put it in or you will take it out. At daycare there really is no way to control it. You're not there! I say as long as he is being good and not getting into trouble to let it be.
