SUBJECT: 5 year old son touching 2 year old daughter
I've walked in on my son touching my daughter's private parts. This has happened several times. I've tried scolding him, putting him in time out and spanking him. Yesterday, he did it again. Also, in the past he has tried to make her touch his penis, gotten naked in her crib with her, and humped her back/butt. He also masturbates frequently and tries to touch me and his older sister sometimes too. Is this normal behavior? Everyone I have asked doesn't know. I have read places that it's not considered abuse unless there's 3 years between siblings, with my kids it's only 2 1/2. But I'm really upset because my daughter is so young and is not participating willingly. Will my son outgrow this? I will not allow my daughter to grow up being around this but being abused as a child myself I don't know if maybe I'm overeacting to normal childhood behavior. As far as I know, none of my children have been abused (I ask them frequently). I am just so worried that he is going to be a rapist or something. I try to keep them separated, but it is very difficult living in the same house. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
