I have had five children, and have found that if, after each feeding, you write down the amount, and time that the baby ate, it makes life a lot easier. Call your doctor and let him/her know your concerns first..
Burping is really important...Make sure to burp him after every ounce or two of formula, and especially when he is done eating, right before you lay him down. That might help with the spitting up.
About him not wanting to sleep in his basinette,
that just takes time.
