SUBJECT: my 16 year old is out of control....
my 16 year old son is seriously out of control.
we have been going around like cats and dogs for the last year and a half when our family relocated from the state of kentucky to oklahoma.
once my son got here and found a wild crowd to call his own, he hasn't been the same.
to make a long story short we have had to deal with home made tattoo's, body piercings, self mutilation, multicolored hair and styles, intresting clothing choices, and loud and offensive language and music.
he leaves for days at a time and only comes back when brought by the police, and only calls if he wants money or transportation.
my local school district signed paper work to let him leave school and work on his GED, so he has no real responsibilites to deal with on a daily basis.
last night after a long agrument and hours worth of nasty language on his part, he burned an anarchy symbol in my front yard, dissasembled my telephone and left.
I filed the police run away report but am acutally relieved that he isn't here to fight with. I have five other children and he is the oldest of six, and has been caught in his room with pornaugraphy, and cigarettes, and last week a homemade water pipe and marjuana in a prescription pill bottle.
legally I am told there is really nothing I can do to make him get counseling, to send him to facility, or have him removed from my home.
so what is a parent to do? I have tried the grounding stuff, removal of privledges, etc.
thats when he goes off and rebels the worst and his behavior has esculated into him putting wholes in walls and ripping a door of the hinges and threating to kill me and my husband in our sleep. my younger children love him but are afraid of him at the same time.
I would welcome some real advice...... I am not intrested in the it's a phase speech anymore. ignoring or responding to his behavior isn't getting my anywhere and I am finally at my breaking point.
