SUBJECT: Infant reflux problem.....
At our son's 4 mo. dr visit last week, his dr. finally diagnosed him with infant reflux. He prescribed 1 cc of Zantac 2x a day. This is after 3 1/2 months of intense crying after feeding and spiting up after EVERY feeding. We thought it was colic then, but now that I have learned a bit more about reflux, I think that was more of his problem all along. He only seems to sleep well in a slightly raised position (on pillow in our bed!) and usually doesn't like it when you leave the room...like if he is in his swing and you go into another room. Since being on the Zantac almost a week, the spit up is minimal, but he still cries and turns away from the breast while feeding and it takes forever to get thru one feeding. I had been breastfeeding exclusively, but have supplemented formula at one feeding a day occasionally,off and on for the past week or two. The intense crying after feeding last 20 min to an hour and is getting really trying on both myself and my husband. ANY help, advice, suggestions would be SO helpful. This is our first baby and unfortunatly this experience is making my husband not want to have more after this one...and I desparately want more children!!
