SUBJECT: Teaching 8 yr old to be sexually healthy...
HELP!
I am a mother raising an 8 yr old daughter on my own. I am very concerned taht I will not be able to teach her to be sexually healthy when I am not modeling that for her. I have not had a relationship( intimate or otherwise) in approximately 3 years. I do not want her to grow up as I did feeling very akward about relationships and initmacy. As I have been working through my own "stuff" I realized that a usually dysfunctional example that was set for me and I do not want to re-create that for her( my parents did not get along, and slept on seperate sides ofthe house). I talk openly about sex and sexuality with her ( although she mostly reply's with "YUCK"), and she spends a some time in households where there are two parents present. I was wondering if anyone has any advice for me to help her develop ina healthy way until I am in a position to model a sexually healthy relationship for her.HELP!
