Congratulations on becoming a grandparent.
My Mom said the exact say thing when I told her we were pregnant with her first grandbaby. She was forty-two at the time. We just found out in April that I am pregnant with her second grandchild and she is Forty-four.
My Dad on the other hand is to what I believe the perfect age for being a grandpa. He was fifty-three when the first grandchild was born and he will be fifty-five when this one is born.
On the other hand my husband tells me he is too old to be a Dada again. He just turned twenty-nine. I tell him well look at your wife, that would be me, I was just three months past my twentieth birthday when our son was born and I will be just twenty-three when this one is born. It's kinda of funny how things happen that way.
From my experience with my Mom I would just ask her if she needs any help with anything and if she says no then let it be but let her know you are their for her if she just wants to talk or needs help. I think you can be of the biggest help after the baby is born especially if her Husband isn't able to take time off from work. Good luck to you. Loving Wife and a Mother of a toddler with one on the way.
