First, I simply adore both names. My dh even suggested Jasmine but I know to many people with that name and I wanted her to have an uncommon name. Second, I believe dr's usually can induce a pregnancy no earlier than 37 weeks unless there is a medical reason that it has to be done sooner. I have to be induced because with my last child I was diagnosed with having Group B strep, it is found in the vagina and can be transmitted to the baby during deliver if not given antibiotics prior to delivery. I was sort of outraged to find out 5 years later that it never goes away, he didn't even test me for it again this time and although it is completely harmless to me, it can be very harmful sometimes even deadly to a newborn. Which is why I was so surprised that alot of women were not aware of this common condition and alot of times they aren't even tested for it. I was induced with my son and delivered him 5 hours or so after being give Pitocin. Since you deliver sooner each pregnancy, my OB doesn't want to risk me going into labor on my own somewhere and not being given antibiotics (penicillin) intravaneously an hour before I deliver. This procedure will prevent the baby from exposure to the strep bacteria. Oh well I hope I answered your questions. Talk with you later... Tanya J.
