Whatever responses you get will be personal choices! I have done it both ways, with and without an epidural. I promise you, unless you deliver like lightning, you will want the epidural. It takes so much of the pain away that you can actually sleep while your labor progresses. ( There are times when it slows it down though and you'll need pitocin (sp?)) Even at that, I thought it was so worth it. The pain cannot be described accurately as every woman is different, but it can be quite bad with some. Don't rule it out is all I am saying! It helps you enjoy the delivery MUCH more. Good Luck! Diane
