blighted ovum or what, any advise for me please?

I am pregnant right now and have been having some cramping. I was at the ER last week twice. First time my HCG levels were 120. Two days later they were 435. I went all week long w/ slight cramping and returned to ER exactly one week from last time I was there and they did a thorough exam. My cervix is still closed, My HCG levels were 6990,they did an ultra sound and it showed I was 5 wks and 1 day. There was a sac but she couldn't see anything inside the sac and no heartbeat. Could I be too early to see anything? Went back two days later and HCG levels had doubled again. Will they double if you have a blighted ovum? Can some one please help me?
