we must have the same child only mine is a 4yr. old girl. perfect with every one else but me. i'm a single mom and she is my baby. she has an older brother who is the best kid in the world and then she is my demon child. she will scream at me and tell me no and knows how to push my buttons. she whines and cries 24/7 and it's to the point i have to leave the room or go in my room and shut the door. soon as she's done with her fit, she will tell me she is sorry and won't do it again.
i've tried everything from time-out to putting her in her room to spanking to taking away toys and t.v. but nothing seems to work.
i guess i haven't really helped you but it feels good that your not the only parent with this problem. it scares me sometimes that i could loose control because it just seems that it is never ending with her. the only time she's good is when she is asleep.
my advice is give him all the attention you can with out going over board. like, if he wants to read, read. wants you to play trucks, play. and so on. it's not the best of advice but it's working a little bit.
