You definitely need to take your son to the doctor, but I wouldn't just take him to his pediatrician; I would take him to a dermatologist. They can prescribe a cream to help alleviate the eczema. Eczema cannot be cured, it can only be controlled. Lots of times it will disappear when the child gets older. Until then, don't bathe your son in water. Buy a cleanser called Cetaphil. You can get this at Walmart. Just lather him up in that. It is a mild but thorough cleanser. Instead of Aveeno, use Eucerin or Lubriderm lotion. These too are over the counter. My one year old developed eczema at a couple months old. It has steadily gotten worse. He has an appointment with a dermatologist this month. All of the suggestions I gave you are ones I have gotten. Good Luck.
