My 3 year old is screaming and hitting me.

my son is becoming violent.he kicks me he screams at me he punches me..i dont physically punish him and i am weary of what he watches on tv.. i know there may be other issues that cause this ,but it hurts me and breaks ny heart to see him in such a way .i am confused and dont know what to do.he has even bitten me and he drew blood.i have been told its just a phase ,but what if it isnt?what if there is something else wrong?i am having trouble with disipline.i find this the hardest thing about raisng my son.how do i know how much is enough..where do i draw the line..?i dont want this to be let go until hes like 15 and i have no control ..!please help me!!!!!!!!!
