I know you're tired - but I just had to respond. You moved into a new house, there's an 8 mos old brother (jealousy) - and a new bed - locking your child in the room is cruel. These are alot of changes for a 3 yr old...she doesn't understand. That scares her death - of course she's going to kick and punch the door - what do you expect. She's trying to get use to her new surroundings - be patient with her and work with her....not matter how much it "plucks" her nerves. Sorry - maybe I'm too honest.
