I was told that in first grade, I used both hands to write, so my mother and my teacher told me that I needed to stick to one. Since I had a difficult time making up my mind, they made it for me, deciding that since we were in a right-handed world, that I needed to write right-handed.
Unfortunately, my writing isn't very legible. I can agree with those who have said that they write one way on one day, and one way on a different day. I eat left handed, and do many things left handed, but I do write with my right hand. I have taught myself to write left-handed as well, although I am not as comfortable in my writing when I write left handed. I guess by the dictionary, I don't really fit the ambidexterous definition, but I don't really consider myself to be right handed or left handed. |
