Colic + catnip and fennel oil - Help

Hi There
I am a new member. I have a 3 1/2 month old son. He has colic. The doctor just told me this week. It was a bit of a relief because this is my first baby and I thought I was doing something wrong.
It has been very difficult to deal with....no sleep, severe cramps etc.
The doctor advised me to switch to a new formula incase the colic is caused by milk protien allergy. I am now using nutramigen. I think things are going a bit better but I dont want to get my hopes up.
I heard that catnip and fennel oil can help colic. I bought some but I want to know if anyone has tried this. I bought it in a health food store. I did a bit of research on it and it sounds good. I am wondering if anyone has tried it and how it works. How much do i give him and what is the best way to give it????
I would love to hear from other moms who have colic babies, I feel so alone. Will it ever end? What can I do to help?
