SUBJECT: Immune System, Blood Platelets
I have an 18 year old daughter who has noticed slow healing bruises. A blood test shows a platelet count of 95. Our family physician said it should be 145 minimum. More blood work is in progress.

My attention was drawn by an article on the internet today relative to possible increased suseptability of left handed people (she is) to rare immune system deseases.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone with knowledge of the possible implications of low blood platelets and what rare immune system deseases might come into play.
