SUBJECT: ADD/ADHD
My younger child (5 yrs old) is ADHD. I knew she was having difficulties from the moment she was born. She screamed all night and the nurse took care of her for me finally. The nurse by the was did not have any better luck with her. As she has been growing, she initially kept getting worse. She would not keep diapers on, she screamed for anything she wanted and if she did not get it immediately then she became overwhelmed and found it difficult to know that you had given her what was requested.Eventually she progressed to hitting her head on the floor, digging her arms, and pulling her hair out. Her pediatrition said that there was nothing we could do until she was 5 years old. A nurse sent us to a pediatric neurologist when she was 2 and we have been progressing emensely since. It is just recently that we have finally made it to a medication regimen that works very good for her. She is both happy and able to learn. This is a blessing. I have been trying to read about ADHD and attempting to learn as much as possible. If anyone has any tips, I would surely welcome them.
