Our now 8 1/2 yr old daughter was diagnosed with benign rolandic epilepsy May 19/2000. She averages about 1 every one to two months upon waking, the earliest be 6:30 am and the latest 8:15 am.We medicate with a very low dose of Tegretol right after a sizure (100mg 1x a day) for about a week to 10 days and then we stop.
She shakes her head, is unable to move or speak, foams at the mouth and shakes her lip.
Needless to say this has been very hard on our family. We hope very much that she will grow out of it as our neurologist thinks she will within a few years. I keep telling myself that nevertheless we are blessed, it could have been much worse. Looking forward to hearing back from you
