 | I'm glad to see someone besides me can stick to their guns and love their kids regardless what "experts" say!! My son (born at 26 weeks) slept in bed with me from 3-6 months old til he was ready for the bassinet, then he moved into his own room at about 9 months old. We've had sleep battles, but he's doing much better now. He still wakes up occasionally, but I give him his binky and blanket, lay him back down, tell him he's a good boy, nite-nite, and leave. Sometimes he cries, most times he doesn't, but he does go back to sleep. Most naps I hold and rock him to help him relax, then lay him down and he's good for 1/2 hr to 1 1/2 hrs. I too turn off the lights, mute the TV, and turn on a fan for white noise. Seems to be working. He also has a fan in his room at night. He's not napping in his crib yet, I'm afraid he'll cry too long, so right now he has a "nap mat" in his play area that we use. Hope some of this is helpful to someone out there. Like you, I'm trying new things and "going with my gut feeling" on how to handle things. |
