SUBJECT: Can a blood test be neg. if taken too early???
I was always a 29 day cycle, and after nearly a year of trying, my husband and I were overjoyed to find out we were pregnant in Nov. 2001. Sadly, I miscarried at 7 weeks on Dec. 18, 2001. Since that time, I have had a period each month, but I have not been a regular 29 days as I used to be. One month it was 28 days, and another month it was 33 days, etc. It has now been nearly 5 weeks since my last period. I took a HPT on day 28 and it said neg., but convinced I was pregnant, I had a blood test done on day 29 and it also came back negative! I was shocked because since I was pregnant a few months ago, having all the same symptoms I had then--sore nipples, frequent urination, exhaustion--I was sure I was pregnant. I even had implantation spotting on day 27. Now with this neg. blood test, I don't know what to think. Is it possible to get a neg. blood test result when you are indeed pregnant? Could I have taken the blood test too early? Has this happened to anyone before? Please help! Thanks!
